After trying most of the Malaysian restaurants around Melbourne, there is only one restaurant which serves the best Chicken Rice. Hainan Chicken restaurant is located in the popular suburb of Glen Waverley in Melbourne. This is the place to be especially when you are after Asian food as you will be spoilt for choices.

I'm glad that this restaurant survives the hard lockdown in 2020. There are a few shops in the area which are not so fortunate and are forced to close down for good.

Kyoto Cafe

Located at Eastland Shopping Centre in Ringwood, Kyoto Cafe has nice ambience, particularly like the double volume ceiling at the entrance.

Went there on a weekday right before lunch time to beat the crowd. Nice and quiet for reading while waiting for the food to be served.

Like most Japanese restaurants, the open kitchen concept allows customers to view all the actions of the chefs and cooks. This one is more like openings instead of completely open, the advantage of this is that the smoke from the kitchen doesn't coming through to the dining area.

像一般日本餐厅一样，开放式厨房的概念使客户可以观看厨师的一切动作。

前面的柜台还展示着各种糕点让顾客有所选择。

Second Best Penang Char Koay Teow In Melbourne

This used to be the only place in Melbourne where I would go for Penang Char Koay Teow until Lulu's Char Koay Teow came along. 

Their taste is the closest to the authentic one back in Penang. I go there often as it is just 5 minutes drive from my office. Weekday lunch is better as there is no crowd compared to weekend. Owner from Ipoh and has been in the business for more than 30 years. They used to run their business in the city until they moved to their current Glen Waverley premise.

Their Assam Laksa is equally good. The soup is so tasty that I finished the last drop, short of licking the bowl!

这曾经是我在墨尔本每当想吃槟城炒粿条时唯一去的地方，直到Lulu's Char Koay Teow出现为止。

它们的炒粿条最接近槟城正宗的口味。我经常会去那里也是因为它离我的办公室只有5分钟车程。上班时间去比较好，因为周末每次都太多顾客。老板是怡保人，经营这个生意已有30多年之久了。以前在市城市开店，直到搬到目前的Glen Waverley地点。

他们的槟城叻沙也很不错。汤底真好吃。

Best Dim Sum In Doncaster

Just had a satisfying lunch at my favourite Yum Cha place - Secret Kitchen in Westfield Doncaster Shopping Mall.

Always call in to reserve before you go as this place is always packed even on weekdays. We missed the first session which is from 11.30am to 12.45pm but managed to booked the second session starting at 1pm.

Felt grateful that we got the window seat finally for the first time!

We can even see the skyline of Melbourne CBD in the distance from the curtain glass window.

出发前最好是先打电话订座，因为这间餐馆实在是太好生意了！

 

非常开心我们这一次可以被安排在靠窗的座位！

我们从玻璃幕窗外可以看到墨尔本市中心。

This place is strongly recommended especially when you are extremely hungry. Why? It's because of the big serving. Take the above noodle soup for example, it is enough for 2 adults! The noodle was so soft compared to the others I have had in Melbourne.

强烈推荐这家餐馆，特别是当你极度饥饿的时候。为什么呢？这是因为他们给的份量超大。就如以上的水饺汤面为例，足给两个成年人吃！与我在墨尔本吃过的其他面条相比，他们的面条是如此柔软， 十分好吃。

他们的烤肉饭也非常物有所值。
