Happy Meal at McDonald

It is tough going for lunch on a typical Saturday peak hour in Melbourne. We have tried one nearby McDonald but were forced to drive out of the carpark as there is simply no room to park. Went to the second nearest McDonal, better luck this time as there was ONE spot left! Quickly made a 90 degrees sharp turn to secure the spot before it was snatched by someone else!

204/192 High St, Doncaster VIC 3108. This restaurant is open 24 hours a day!!

The front ordering counters were crowded with customers waiting to order and their meals. It was as if everyone suddenly decide to meet here at the same time only that they didn't know each other.

Decided to use the self-order kiosk instead of queuing......

Excited to see our ordering number appear on the screen above the counter; ours is '142'!!! More waiting required.......

Assam Laksa at Doncaster East

Malaysian restaurant serving some familiar favourites in the suburb of Doncaster East in Melbourne.

Located along the busy Blackburn Road filled with rows of shops and eateries; Two Circle Cafe is hard to be missed below the black painted law firm shop lot.

Flanked by a Vietnamese restaurant Noodle Box to the right and Rasa Malaya to the left. Rasa Malaya used to be quite popular among the locals in the area but its authenticity has somewhat diminished after its business owner was changed. 

Today Special is Pan Mee and Deep Fried Nyonya/ Sambal Fish with Rice but I have something else in mind...

The interior has a cosy cafe setting, neat and clean; quite different from the typical messy Asian restaurant. 

When I have found something unique for a particular restaurant, usually I will order the same dish everything I patronize the place. As for Two Circle Cafe, my favourite is the Penang Assam Laksa - A$14.80!
