Brunch In Melbourne

Initially planned to have Japanese food on Tuesday but the restaurant was closed for Covid cleaning. So we walked further down the row to the Malaysian restaurant only to find out that they too were closed for Covid cleaning. It seems that's the new normal to have regular cleaning in order for their business to stay open.

Have no choice but to walk further down to the last shop in that row of shops and was delighted that it's opened!

This is the first time we have ever been to this place and surprisingly it has very nice ambience inside.

Chai Latte. Someone told me that their Beetroot Latte is also nice, will try next time.

原本计划在周二去我家附近的日本料理用餐，但餐厅却因Covid清理而当天关闭。因此，我们往下走到另一间马来西亚餐馆，发现他们也因相同原因进行清洁工作而没营业。定期进行清洁以确保业务如常运作似乎已成了新常态。

别无选择之下，我们唯有继续走到那排商店的最后一家商店希望它有开。很高兴它当天有开！

这是我们第一次来到这个地方，出乎意料的是它的室内气氛非常好。

Father's Day Lunch

We celebrated Father's Day in Melbourne yesterday. With the current Stage 4 Lockdown, all restaurants are still closed to dine in business, so the only choice is to cook at home.

Beautiful Japanese scallops.

Grill Banana Prawn.

Grill salmon fillet on a pan. The skin is to be face down in order to get it crispy.

Flip over once the salmon skin turns brownish.

Final presentation: Grill Seafood Platter with a sunny side up.

A rich salad to balance the diet.

A haven for book lover who loves to eat!

Nice and inviting shopfront awaits those who wish to stay away from the lunch rush hour and have a bite in a relaxing atmosphere.

A wide variety of categories cater to everyone in the family.

Harry Potter seems to be quite popular again here in Melbourne thanks to the musical play that is going on here at the moment.

The Kids Section is very tempting to the small ones.

Robinsons Bookshop is located on the first floor inside The Glen Shopping Centre and it's open on the following time:

Big Breakfast At Victoria Park

It is a place where you can have all day breakfast, butter and honey, scrambled eggs, poached eggs and maple syrup. The big breakfast was definitely value for money considering its location being so close to the city. The mushrooms were simply fabulous! The coffee was also very nice. Crumpet is a nice looking tiny little cafe. It was a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back for those mushrooms!

Among the dishes in their menu includes crepes with strawberries, banana, nutella and cream; eggs benny; big breakfast (my personal favourite); eggs benedict with salmon; mushrooms, rocket, onion jam, grilled haloumi cheese on toast; sausage omelette; smoked salmon with feta cheese; spinach fetta and pine nut omelette.

 

Most people who live in Victoria Park don't even know it exists due to its very bland exterior. The interior on the other hand is acceptable with a simple mural painting on one of the feature wall. You will definitely find yourself fighting for a table as they simply don’t have enough in their tiny internal space.

Breakfast With Dolphin

Located at Mandurah Ocean Marina is the Dolphin Quay; named after these friendly mammals are spotted regularly around the area. I personally saw 3 of them swimming close to the wooden deck of the promenade. Dolphin Quay is a place modeled after the popular Fremantle and Hillary's Sorrento Quay with restaurants, cafes, market stalls and a variety of specialty shops. Although smaller in scale if compare to the other two places mentioned, it is nevertheless a far more pleasant place that offer picturesque view of the marina minus the crowd plus the dolphins!

My personal favorite to dine is the Cafe Moka that offers breakfast, brunch, coffee and home made cakes. This is the place to experience modern Australian cuisine in outdoor dining close to water.
