Nasi Lemak Burger

Everyone heard of Nasi Lemak before; but have you heard of Nasi Lemak Burger? That's it, it is also my first time see this on any restaurant's menu for the first time today! I thought, are they selling Nasi Lemak with a burger? I was wrong, it is actually a burger with all the ingredients of Nasi Lemak within the two pieces of bun minus the Nasi or rice!

There is crunchy deep fried chicken, anchovies, peanut, egg and cucumber. The chicken in particular is my favourite as I just love fried chicken! Very crunchy and yet juicy!

Since there is no rice at all, shouldn't it be renamed Burger Lemak?

Compare it with the normal Nasi Lemak shown in picture below (also from the same restaurant).

Nasi Lemak Burger can be found at Valencia Cafe, Doncaster East, Melbourne.

Valencia Cafe

Trying to find some place special where we've never been before for a Sunday relaxing lunch but all I could gather from the internet were mostly located in Melbourne city centre. Then decided to use my car GPS system to search restaurants nearby and Tender Trap Restaurant came up which is less than 1KM from my house.

Drove there only to find that it is closed on Sunday so went into the other one located along the same row of shopfronts. Nice simple interior with tables almost fully occupied. One of the dish written on the lunch specials board caught my attention; Thai Style Crab Cakes. I always have craving for Thai crab cakes. This is however not a Thai restaurant, the menu served is fusion style; mixture of Asian and Australian cuisine which is quite common in Melbourne due to its cosmopolitan population.
